About the artist
Dipak Banerjee

Renowned artist Dipak Banerjee, born in 1936, began his artistic journey at the Government College of Arts & Crafts, Kolkata, before studying in Paris and Oslo on prestigious government scholarships. With a career spanning decades, Banerjee's work exudes a profound spiritual resonance. His compositions, often built on geometric patterns and 'tantric' symbols, radiate devotion and luminosity reminiscent of Indian miniature painting. Banerjee's mastery in printmaking and watercolor is augmented by his deep engagement with themes of spirituality and cosmic unity. His art, rooted in Hinduism yet universally relevant, has graced solo exhibitions globally. He's an esteemed member of the Society of Contemporary Artists, Kolkata.
